Pittulongu

A long stretch of pale sand just outside Olbia, where the sea opens toward Tavolara and the islands of the Marine Protected Area in a wide and luminous landscape.

Discover Pittulongu

Pittulongu is one of the best-known beaches along the northeastern coast of Sardinia, located a short distance from the center of Olbia. It extends in a broad strip of fine, pale sand along the gulf, interrupted by small rocky sections and gentle curves that break up the shoreline.

The sea is generally calm, with mostly sandy seabeds that slope gradually, making access to the water easy and comfortable. The colors range from very light green near the shore to bright turquoise and deeper blue offshore, with open views that on clear days stretch as far as Tavolara and Molara.

Behind the beach, the landscape alternates between more natural areas and residential zones with seasonal facilities, creating a balance between convenience and coastal atmosphere. Despite its proximity to the city, Pittulongu maintains a spacious and relaxed feeling, thanks to its width and the constant presence of the open sea on the horizon.

From the water, Pittulongu appears as a long pale line framing the Gulf of Olbia. During a boat excursion, it can be an interesting stop to alternate wilder bays with broader and more open coastal views. Anchoring offshore allows you to appreciate its full extension and the contrast between luminous sand, clear water and the horizon dominated by Tavolara, in a wide and bright landscape typical of this part of Sardinia.

What to expect in this paradise

Wide sandy beaches, shallow and transparent seabeds, and open views of Tavolara: Pittulongu is one of the most accessible and panoramic stretches of coastline in the Gulf of Olbia.
