La Marmorata

A wide and sheltered bay facing its namesake islet, where pale sand and turquoise water create one of the most open landscapes of Santa Teresa.

Discover La Marmorata

La Marmorata stretches east of Santa Teresa Gallura, within a wide and luminous bay that looks directly toward Corsica. The main beach forms a long arc of pale sand facing the small islet of La Marmorata, which rises a short distance from the shore and helps define the visual identity of the area. Together, they create an open and airy landscape, with a horizon expanding toward the Strait of Bonifacio.

The seabed is predominantly sandy and slopes gently, keeping the water shallow and transparent for several meters. Shades range from light green to intense turquoise on bright days, while further offshore the blue deepens. The presence of the islet offers partial shelter to the bay and creates subtle light reflections and gentle currents between the beach and the small island.

Behind the shoreline, low dunes and Mediterranean vegetation extend inland, while rocky sections interrupt the sandy continuity along the edges of the bay. The setting therefore alternates between soft, linear stretches and more articulated points, offering changing perspectives depending on position and time of day.

Reaching La Marmorata by dinghy means entering one of the widest bays in the Santa Teresa area. From the sea, the geometry of the beach and the constant presence of Corsica in the background become particularly evident. Including La Marmorata in a dinghy tour allows you to alternate open, luminous beaches with more rugged headlands along the northern coast, maintaining a continuous visual dialogue between Sardinia and Corsica.
