Cala Spinosa

A small cove nestled among wind-sculpted granite rocks, where the sea takes on intense shades beneath the cliffs of Capo Testa.

Discover Cala Spinosa

Cala Spinosa lies on the north-western side of Capo Testa, in a stretch of coastline where granite dominates the landscape with smooth, wind-shaped forms. The cove is small and intimate, with a strip of pale sand mixed with rocky sections that descend directly into the sea. The setting feels more secluded than the wide beaches nearby, yet remarkably scenic.

The sea here is exceptionally clear and becomes deeper within a short distance from the shore. Colors range from bright turquoise to deep blue, shifting constantly with light and the currents of the Strait of Bonifacio. The surrounding granite formations create striking contrasts of light and shadow, making the scenery continuously dynamic.

Behind the beach, Mediterranean scrub climbs between the boulders, while above rises the rugged profile of the Capo Testa promontory. On certain days, the wind can ripple the water’s surface, enhancing the wild character of this coastal corner.

Reaching Cala Spinosa by dinghy allows you to fully appreciate its natural setting: from the sea, the cove appears tucked between rocks, almost hidden compared to the more open stretches of coastline. Including it in a dinghy tour between Rena di Ponente and the cliffs of Capo Testa means alternating sandy beaches with rocky coves, experiencing one of the most iconic and untamed landscapes of northern Sardinia.
