Cala Serena
A small, sheltered bay on the coast of Caprera, with pale sand, granite rocks and transparent waters reflecting the colors of the Archipelago.
Discover Cala Serena
Cala Serena lies along the coast of Caprera, in a stretch characterized by smaller and more secluded inlets compared to the island’s main beaches. The bay is framed by smooth granite rocks, between which a small arc of pale sand opens, creating an intimate and protected environment. Its modest size contributes to a stronger sense of tranquility than the broader beaches nearby.
The sea in front of the cove features predominantly sandy seabeds with rocky sections along the sides, displaying shades that range from emerald green to bright turquoise depending on light and depth. On calm days, the water appears especially transparent, with reflections that highlight the morphology of the seabed and the continuity of the submerged rocks.
Behind the shoreline, Mediterranean scrub develops naturally, with juniper, mastic shrubs and low bushes growing among the granite boulders. The setting remains largely unspoiled, with vegetation reaching almost to the sand and contributing to a harmonious, lightly developed landscape.
Reaching Cala Serena by dinghy allows you to appreciate its position along the eastern profile of Caprera, incorporating it into an itinerary that may include Spiaggia I Due Mari, Cala Napoletana or the island’s wider bays. From the sea, the intimate character of the cove becomes clear, and it is possible to anchor in calm waters for a swimming break, experiencing one of the most secluded and evocative stops in the La Maddalena Archipelago.
What to expect in this paradise
Clear water, sandy seabeds and an intimate atmosphere: Cala Serena is a discreet stop along the eastern coast of Caprera.

It overlooks a stretch of sea known for its clarity and calm conditions, with light seabeds and crystal-clear waters. The surrounding landscape is typically Mediterranean, with smooth granite rocks, low vegetation and natural elements that create a peaceful and secluded atmosphere.
Due to its location and relatively small size, Cala Serena is considered an ideal destination for those looking for a more intimate and less crowded beach experience.
How can you reach Cala Serena?
Cala Serena can be reached by land via the island of Caprera, starting from La Maddalena and crossing the bridge that connects the two islands. Once you reach the closest accessible area, it is necessary to continue on foot along paths surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation.
The path requires a short walk and is not among the easiest, which helps keep the cove less crowded compared to more accessible beaches.
Alternatively, Cala Serena can be easily reached by sea, which is the best option for those who want to avoid the walk and enjoy the island from a different perspective.
With Flag Sardinia, you can reach the cove directly aboard luxury RIB boats: if you have a boat license, you can choose bareboat rental and move independently, or opt for a skippered experience for a more relaxed and personalized day.

The sea displays shades ranging from turquoise to deep blue, with light seabeds that reflect sunlight and create a particularly bright and transparent effect.
The granite rocks surrounding the cove, shaped by wind and time, contribute to a natural and harmonious landscape that remains largely untouched.
For this reason, Cala Serena is especially appreciated by those looking for authenticity and a deeper connection with nature.

Visitors can swim in calm, crystal-clear waters, ideal for snorkeling thanks to the visibility of the seabed and the presence of marine life. The rocky areas also offer more secluded spots where you can relax in peace.

ECCELLENTE In base a 101 recensioni Pubblicato su Feline Heine21/06/2026Trustindex verifica che la fonte originale della recensione sia Google. One word, Amazing!!! First of all, we would like to thank Gabriele & Ludovico for the amazing communication and guidance, not only during the booking process but also during the day of rental. They were very transparent about costs, we had a great check in/check out process, and they respond very well and clear during our communication on mail. They were absolutely wonderful. We both have our nautical license so we were able to book the R6 without a skipper. This was no problem at all. We went to multiple (recommended) places in the area of Porto Rotondo and they were beautiful. Water so clear as you see on the pictures and we even saw dolphins, twice!! The service they provide is like no other and included drinks, snacks, towels, water-shoes you name it. It was an experience we will never forget! Will definitely go back here whenever we are in Sardinia.Pubblicato su Sabrina Mechta20/06/2026Trustindex verifica che la fonte originale della recensione sia Google.
