Vignola Beach
A wide sandy bay dominated by a coastal tower, where dunes, Mediterranean scrub, and open sea shape one of the most iconic landscapes of northern Sardinia.
Discover Vignola Beach
Vignola Beach stretches along the coast of Aglientu as a broad crescent of pale sand, bordered to the west by a rocky promontory crowned by the historic Tower of Vignola. This architectural presence, perfectly integrated into the natural setting, introduces a vertical element that contrasts with the horizontal sweep of the bay, making the beach immediately recognizable even from the sea.
The shoreline is wide and continuous, composed of fine, compact sand that extends behind a system of natural dunes covered with junipers and Mediterranean scrub. The vegetation creates a striking chromatic contrast between deep green tones and the light color of the sand. Toward the water, the seabed slopes relatively evenly, allowing depth variations to remain clearly visible through the transparent surface. Sea tones alternate between emerald green and deeper blue, especially when sunlight enhances the clarity of calmer areas.
Compared to the more intimate coves of Gallura, Vignola offers a broader and more open dimension. The beach faces the currents and winds of the Strait of Bonifacio, which gives the landscape a dynamic character. On calm days, the water appears luminous and clear; when the mistral blows, light waves introduce movement and visual depth to the bay.
Arriving by dinghy along this stretch of coast allows you to appreciate the full width of the bay and the relationship between the beach, the tower, and the rocky headland. Navigating parallel to the shore highlights the continuity of the coastline and the strength of the open sea, while allowing careful selection of the most suitable stopping point. Including Vignola Beach in a dinghy itinerary adds a panoramic and iconic stage where history and nature meet along one of the most representative bays of northern Gallura.
What to expect in this paradise
Pale sand, gently sloping seabeds, and the silhouette of the Tower of Vignola on the headland: a bright and panoramic beach overlooking the Strait of Bonifacio.

It is one of the most easily accessible beaches in the area and serves as a key reference point for those looking to explore the northern Gallura coastline.
The beach stretches for several kilometers and is characterized by golden sand, natural dunes and well-preserved Mediterranean vegetation. Behind the beach, there is a small tourist area with services, making Vignola an ideal destination that combines natural beauty with convenience.
How can you reach Vignola Beach?
Vignola Beach is easily accessible by car via the coastal road SP90, which connects Santa Teresa di Gallura to Castelsardo. Unlike many other beaches in the area, access is direct and parking areas are available nearby.
From the parking areas, the beach can be reached through short and easy paths, making it suitable for families and for those who prefer to avoid long walks.
The beach can also be reached by sea. With the luxury rib boats of Flag Sardinia, it is possible to reach Vignola and continue along the coastline towards more secluded coves: those with a boating license can opt for a bareboat rental and explore independently, while those seeking a more relaxing experience can choose a skippered charter.
What is Vignola Beach known for?
Vignola Beach is known for its wide shoreline, the presence of the historic Vignola Spanish tower overlooking the coast, and its balance between natural surroundings and available services. The long stretch of sand and clear water make it one of the most versatile beaches in the area.
One of its most distinctive features is the coastal tower, a historical structure that defines the identity of the location and offers a panoramic viewpoint over the coastline.
The beach is also appreciated for the presence of nearby facilities, bars and services, making it more comfortable than the completely wild beaches of the Aglientu area, while still maintaining a well-preserved natural setting.
What can you do at Vignola Beach?
At Vignola Beach, you can enjoy a complete seaside experience suited to different types of visitors. The beach is ideal for swimming thanks to its sandy seabed and easy access, making it suitable for families.
Its wide shoreline allows for long walks along the coast, while the presence of the Vignola tower adds a cultural and scenic element to the experience.
The area is also suitable for water sports, thanks to wind conditions on certain days. Nearby, there are bars and refreshment points, allowing for a more comfortable and organized beach day compared to more remote locations.

The best time to visit Vignola Beach is from late spring to early autumn. During the summer months, sea conditions are ideal for swimming and the presence of services makes it perfect for full-day stays.
Spring and September are particularly recommended for those who prefer a quieter atmosphere, with pleasant temperatures and fewer visitors.
Due to its exposure, the beach can be affected by wind, making it an interesting destination for those looking for suitable conditions for activities such as windsurfing.
Why visit Vignola Beach during a boat tour?
Visiting Vignola Beach during a boat tour allows you to fully appreciate its size and scenic setting, with the historic tower standing out along the coastline.
From the sea, it is possible to reach less crowded areas of the beach and stop in spots with clearer water, away from the main access points. This provides a more exclusive experience compared to visiting from land.
A boat itinerary also allows you to connect Vignola with other beaches along the Aglientu coastline, such as Rena Majore, Naracu Nieddu and Monti Russu, creating a varied and complete day at sea.
With the luxury rib boats of Flag Sardinia, the experience can be fully customized: bareboat rental for independent exploration or skippered charter for a completely relaxed day.

ECCELLENTE In base a 101 recensioni Pubblicato su Feline Heine21/06/2026Trustindex verifica che la fonte originale della recensione sia Google. One word, Amazing!!! First of all, we would like to thank Gabriele & Ludovico for the amazing communication and guidance, not only during the booking process but also during the day of rental. They were very transparent about costs, we had a great check in/check out process, and they respond very well and clear during our communication on mail. They were absolutely wonderful. We both have our nautical license so we were able to book the R6 without a skipper. This was no problem at all. We went to multiple (recommended) places in the area of Porto Rotondo and they were beautiful. Water so clear as you see on the pictures and we even saw dolphins, twice!! The service they provide is like no other and included drinks, snacks, towels, water-shoes you name it. It was an experience we will never forget! Will definitely go back here whenever we are in Sardinia.Pubblicato su Sabrina Mechta20/06/2026Trustindex verifica che la fonte originale della recensione sia Google.
