Lu Impostu

Lu Impostu extends along one of the most scenic stretches of the San Teodoro coastline, just south of Cala Brandinchi. It is a broad and luminous beach characterized by fine, pale sand forming a regular arc directly facing the island of Tavolara.

The seabed is predominantly sandy and slopes gently and gradually, creating a long stretch of shallow, transparent water. The sea displays shades ranging from emerald green to bright turquoise, with reflections that shift according to light intensity and wind direction. On calmer days, the water appears almost crystalline, allowing the seabed to be clearly visible even several meters from the shore.

Behind the beach lies a coastal lagoon running parallel to the sea, separated by a narrow dune ridge covered with Mediterranean scrub. This dual presence of water — saltwater in front and freshwater behind — creates a varied and harmonious landscape in which dunes, vegetation, and sea merge into a natural balance.

From the water, Lu Impostu appears as a wide sandy crescent framed by low headlands and dominated by the vertical silhouette of Tavolara on the horizon. Reaching it by dinghy allows you to appreciate its scale and the clarity of its seabed, stopping offshore to enjoy a full panoramic view and easily including it in an itinerary that also features Punta Coda Cavallo and Cala Brandinchi within the marine protected area.
