Cala Girgolu

Cala Girgolu lies along the coast of Punta Coda Cavallo, in a stretch characterized by wide expanses of pale sand interspersed with granite outcrops shaped by wind and sea. It is one of the most recognizable bays in the area, thanks to the presence of uniquely shaped rocks emerging from the water and creating ever-changing views depending on the angle of observation.

The main beach is wide and bright, with sandy seabeds that slope gently and remain shallow for several meters from the shore. The water is exceptionally clear and displays shades ranging from very light green to vivid turquoise, with light reflections enhancing the transparency and highlighting the patches of sand and rock on the seabed.

Around the bay, Mediterranean scrub grows thick and fragrant, with juniper bushes and low shrubs overlooking the sea, preserving the natural and relatively unspoiled character of the area. From offshore, Cala Girgolu appears as a sequence of small inlets alternating between sand and rock, forming a varied and visually engaging landscape for those navigating along this coastline.

During a boat excursion in the Punta Coda Cavallo area, Cala Girgolu can be an ideal stop for swimming in shallow and calm waters, as well as a panoramic point from which to admire the silhouettes of the islands on the horizon. The combination of pale seabeds, granite rocks and crystal-clear sea makes it one of the most scenic and versatile stops in the region.
