Baja Sardinia
A wide and luminous bay overlooking the La Maddalena Archipelago, where pale sandy beaches and turquoise waters alternate with granite rocks and open sea views.
Discover Baja Sardinia
Baja Sardinia overlooks one of the most open and panoramic bays of the Gulf of Arzachena, in a strategic position between Cannigione and Porto Cervo. The village is built around a large sandy inlet that faces directly toward the La Maddalena Archipelago, offering wide and luminous horizons throughout the year.
The main beach features pale sand and shallow seabeds that gently slope into the water, making the area particularly suitable for relaxing stops and long swims. The sea displays shades ranging from emerald green to deep turquoise, with clear waters reflecting the light and highlighting the sandy bottom. On both sides of the bay, granite rocks shaped by wind and sea create smaller, more sheltered coves.
Behind the beach, the village develops harmoniously, with low-rise buildings and open spaces that maintain a constant visual connection with the sea. The promenade along the bay offers ever-changing views toward the islands of Caprera and Spargi, which seem to float on the horizon on clear days.
Arriving at Baja Sardinia by boat allows you to fully appreciate its natural layout: from the sea, the breadth of the inlet and the contrast between pale sand and pinkish granite rocks become even more evident. During a boat excursion along this stretch of coastline, it can represent an ideal stop for a swim in calm waters before continuing toward Porto Cervo or the islands of the Archipelago. Its intermediate position between the Gulf of Arzachena and the Costa Smeralda makes it a natural passage point in many sea itineraries.
What to expect in this paradise
Sheltered beaches, sandy seabeds and spectacular views toward Caprera and Spargi: Baja Sardinia is one of the most scenic bays between Cannigione and Porto Cervo, perfect to experience by boat.

Fun Facts and Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Baja Sardinia located?
Baja Sardinia is located in the northeastern part of Sardinia, along the Costa Smeralda, in an open and panoramic position facing directly towards the La Maddalena Archipelago. Unlike more sheltered locations, here the sea is the absolute protagonist, with a wide and uninterrupted horizon that extends the view all the way to the islands.
The area develops around a naturally shaped bay, surrounded by granite rocks sculpted by wind and Mediterranean vegetation. The contrast between the green landscape, the white sand and the turquoise shades of the water creates one of the most recognizable sceneries of the entire Costa Smeralda.
From a nautical point of view, Baja Sardinia represents a key transition area between the Costa Smeralda and the La Maddalena Archipelago. During a day at sea with Flag Sardinia, it is one of the most scenic areas to pass through or stop at, both with luxury RIB boats in bareboat rental and charter with skipper.
How to reach Baja Sardinia?
Baja Sardinia is easily reachable by land and is located about 30–35 minutes from Olbia, following a panoramic road that crosses some of the most characteristic areas of the Costa Smeralda.
Arriving by car, you can directly access the center of the location, where parking areas and immediate access to the main beach are available. However, the most suggestive way to experience Baja Sardinia is by sea.
Sailing along the coastline, the bay gradually opens up, revealing an increasingly wide and bright landscape, with the sea changing color depending on depth and sunlight. With Flag Sardinia’s luxury RIB boats, it is possible to reach it starting from Porto Rotondo or other marinas in the area, including it within customized itineraries.
In the case of charter with skipper, it is also possible to organize pick-up or drop-off on request, making Baja Sardinia a flexible point within the experience.
What is Baja Sardinia famous for?
Baja Sardinia is famous for its wide and perfectly shaped bay, one of the most iconic in the Costa Smeralda, where the light sand and shallow seabed create incredibly clear water with shades ranging from emerald green to intense turquoise.
It is also known for being a more accessible destination compared to other areas of the Costa Smeralda, while still maintaining a high standard in terms of services and landscape quality. The atmosphere here is more relaxed, yet always refined.
From the sea, Baja Sardinia is immediately recognizable thanks to the shape of its bay and the color variations of the water. It is one of the most appreciated stops during a RIB boat day, both for swimming breaks and as a panoramic point along the route.
With Flag Sardinia, it is often included in itineraries due to its combination of accessibility, beauty and strategic location, both in bareboat rental and charter with skipper.
What to do in Baja Sardinia?
In Baja Sardinia, it is possible to enjoy the sea in a complete way, alternating moments of relaxation with more dynamic experiences. The main bay is perfect for swimming stops thanks to its shallow sandy seabed, ideal also for those who prefer calm and safe waters.
During a day on a RIB boat, the area is ideal for longer stops, where you can relax, go snorkeling or simply enjoy the surrounding landscape. The water is generally very clear and allows easy observation of the seabed.
The center of the location offers restaurants and venues where it is possible to stop for lunch, making it a perfect stop within a longer itinerary along the Costa Smeralda.

What is the best time to visit Baja Sardinia?
Baja Sardinia is a destination that offers its best throughout the entire summer season, but the ideal period depends on the type of experience you are looking for.
June and September are the most balanced months, with pleasant temperatures, generally calm sea conditions and fewer tourists. It is the perfect time to enjoy the bay in a more peaceful and authentic way.

While navigating, you gradually enter a bright and open environment, where the color of the water constantly changes and the landscape extends towards the horizon. This makes the arrival by boat particularly impressive.
Moreover, its location makes it a perfect stop within wider itineraries between the Costa Smeralda and the La Maddalena Archipelago. It is a natural passage point, but also a destination worth stopping for.
With Flag Sardinia, the experience is fully customizable. In bareboat rental, Baja Sardinia becomes an easy and safe stop to reach. In charter with skipper, it turns into a carefully planned moment within a broader route, enhancing every phase of the day at sea.

ECCELLENTE In base a 101 recensioni Pubblicato su Feline Heine21/06/2026Trustindex verifica che la fonte originale della recensione sia Google. One word, Amazing!!! First of all, we would like to thank Gabriele & Ludovico for the amazing communication and guidance, not only during the booking process but also during the day of rental. They were very transparent about costs, we had a great check in/check out process, and they respond very well and clear during our communication on mail. They were absolutely wonderful. We both have our nautical license so we were able to book the R6 without a skipper. This was no problem at all. We went to multiple (recommended) places in the area of Porto Rotondo and they were beautiful. Water so clear as you see on the pictures and we even saw dolphins, twice!! The service they provide is like no other and included drinks, snacks, towels, water-shoes you name it. It was an experience we will never forget! Will definitely go back here whenever we are in Sardinia.Pubblicato su Sabrina Mechta20/06/2026Trustindex verifica che la fonte originale della recensione sia Google.
