What to expect in this paradise
Porto Massimo is a small harbour on the island of La Maddalena, tucked away in an inlet along the north-eastern coast. The marina is framed by low, colourful houses set very close to the water and by granite hills that shelter the bay, creating an intimate and orderly setting.
The atmosphere is that of a discreet fishing village: a few boats moored along the quay, a jetty stretching out into the sea, very little noise and the outline of the nearby islands on the horizon.
It is a place that combines comfort and tranquillity: a small settlement in the heart of the Archipelago, where the pace is slower than on the mainland coast and the sea remains, in any case, the true protagonist.
