Cala del Sonno

Cala del Sonno is a small, secluded bay along the coast beneath Capo Figari, nestled between rocky walls that descend toward the sea with irregular profiles. The beach is intimate in size, made up of pale sand mixed with smooth pebbles and fragments of rock, while the water deepens quickly, taking on shades that range from clear green to intense turquoise. In moments of calm, the sea surface appears almost motionless, perfectly reflecting the name of the cove.

Behind the shoreline, Mediterranean scrub climbs the slopes of the headland, with cushions of mastic, myrtle, and rockrose overlooking the bay, breaking up the grey of the rocks with patches of green. The setting is simple yet highly scenic: on one side the vertical cliffs, on the other the open view toward the sea stretching to the horizon. In the morning hours, light enters at an angle, creating soft reflections on the water; toward evening, the colors warm and the cove takes on an even more intimate atmosphere.
